Main research fields: microbial ecology, and resource utilization of organic wastes. He has published more than 170 peer-reviewed papers, including over 90 as first author or corresponding author. Three papers are listed as Highly Cited Papers in the Web of Science Core Collection. He has 12 authorized patents and has co-authored 4 books. He has received 6 scientific research awards, including the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from the China Circular Economy Association.
